Why I Built Prosperify
M., The Founder ·
I built Prosperify because I got tired of having five tabs open just to figure out whether I was okay this month.
One for the budget. One for the brokerage. One for crypto. One for a spreadsheet I'd been dragging along for years. And one for whatever calculator I happened to need that day. None of them talked to each other. All of them quietly assumed I lived in America and thought in dollars. I don't, and I'd bet a lot of you reading this don't either.
It was genuinely exhausting. I searched and searched, tried most of them, none hit the mark. Not one could give me a single honest answer to a simple question: what do I own, what do I owe, where did last month actually go, what are the markets doing right now, and as a plus, answer some of the basic money questions. In my currency. In my language.
I just wanted one app. On my mobile. An app that would make it really easy to navigate through and feed it details. That would give me the whole picture without having to get out of the app and check three other apps. That I could ask a question and get a straight answer without me having to dig into rows and rows of data and transactions. An app that I could enjoy looking at, that would make me come back, that I could even have fun with — an app that I would love.
Here is what I think the whole category gets wrong. It treats your money like a chore you're supposed to track, when really it's a small business you're running whether you've noticed or not. You have income. You have costs. You've got a few assets, some debts, and a handful of bets on the future. No company that size would run on five disconnected tabs and a gut feeling. It would have one dashboard and someone whose actual job is to look at it. Most of us are that someone. Nobody ever handed us the dashboard.
So I decided to build it. What I want Prosperify to be is easy to say and hard to do. Let anyone run their own money like a company, even if they've never read a balance sheet in their life, and don't make them pay just to get started.
I'll be honest about how this got made, because it's part of the point. I'm not an engineer. My domain is business and finance — I've been in top-notch corporates around the world (and continue to be), with 20+ years of experience and a family to run. A few years ago, someone like me simply doesn't get to build a real software product. You raise money and hire a team, or it stays an idea in a notes app. AI changed that, for good. It meant the thing I actually understand — how money works and what a normal person needs from it — could finally turn into a product without me having to become a different person first. I think that's one of the genuinely good things happening right now. Prosperify is my version of it.
What I ended up with is one app that holds the whole picture. Your net worth and where it's heading. Your income and spending in plain language, with a monthly profit and loss you can actually read. Your budget. Your portfolio, with live data across stocks, crypto, forex, commodities and bonds, sitting in the same place as everything else. An AI assistant that helps you understand your own numbers instead of guessing at them. More than twenty calculators for the decisions that genuinely move the needle. And it works in fourteen languages and over forty-five currencies, because most of the world doesn't think in English and dollars, and I was tired of apps that pretend otherwise.
A few things I want to be straight about, because this category is full of bad faith and I have no interest in adding to it. I'm not a financial advisor, and Prosperify doesn't pretend to be one. The AI is there to help you understand your own situation, not to tell you what to buy. Ask it for a hot stock tip and it will turn you down and point you to a real advisor. That's on purpose, not a limitation.
I don't sell your data. No third-party trackers, no quiet side deals. Your numbers are encrypted and they're yours. If you ever want out, you export everything and delete your account in two clicks. I'd rather earn your trust than build a cage around you.
And the price is deliberately low, with a free tier that's actually useful at minimum. But I do really believe the value you can unlock with paid tiers is worth it. The people who need a tool like this the most are usually the ones the expensive apps quietly price out.
I won't tell you it's finished. There's a long list of things I want it to do that it can't do yet. But the test I keep coming back to is the one I started with. Can I open a single screen and know, honestly, whether I'm okay this month? For the first time in years, I can. If that's a question you've been keeping in five tabs of your own, I built this for you.
One quick note on the missing name. I've left mine off on purpose. I value my privacy, and this was never about me or building a personal brand. I'm not here for a following or any of that. I just wanted to make something useful and share what I picked up along the way, and the work matters more than whose name is on it. So you'll see me here as M., The Founder.
